496 days later

My Dad, Larry Tideman, lost his battle with Lukemia 496 days ago.

When he passed we all felt like the Fun Family had died with him. True - there is something immeasurably big missing - but in truth - the Fun Family still exists.

My Mom, his wife of 42 years, moved to Colorado to be with my younger brother and his family.

My sister in law gave birth to a brand new baby girl on Larry's birthday, Aug. 13th, just one month after he passed away. Amazing how life works huh? Mom is helping with this new addition and Aubree's 5 year old brother, Kord. It gives her focus - something to "still be here" for. That's important.

Meanwhile, Mom continues to find adventure where ever she goes. All of this has certainly been hardest on her - but she's bouncing back with her sense of humor still in tact. I recently received an email from her that basically said "it's Sunday. I'm bored. Guess I'll go pretend I have a life. Shit." That says a lot right there.
