A hard one - but sleep helps

It's been a hard time. That pain in Dad's hip only got worse - and really hindered his ability to get out of bed - and when you need to pee every 20 minutes or so - that's a REALLY big deal. Not to mention making it even harder to sleep.

The Dr. took a look at him last night and determined that the pain he was feeling was probably not his gout as he'd thought - but either due to the APL itself, an infection at the bone marrow biopsy site, or some kind of bleeding into the bone. Those last two are kinda scary.

They did an MRI late last night - and here it is after 2pm the next day and still no word on what they found there - talk about frustrating! I'm going with the thought that it must not be much or the Doctors would be all over it.

I have found on several websites that bone and joint pain is pretty common symptom of APL - so I'm taking comfort in know that that's probably what's getting him.

In the meantime - they hooked him up to the "good" drugs - and he has control of that with a magic red button. He's dozed off and on all day. He's frustrated to be so groggy and sleepy - but I just keep telling him "hey - Groggy and sleepy is a hole heck of a lot better than hurting don't ya think?".

So I've been sitting here with this amazing view doing my work as he snores away in his pink panther pajamas. I wouldn't complain if this was my office - although it would be better if all these sick people weren't around!

I sure hope they come tell us what the MRI showed - and what to expect next soon...
