Things have taken a hard turn. Larry has been fighting some infections since the onset of all of this - and with no real immune system - it's taking it's toll on his body. He began violently vomiting yesterday and it continued through the night and his fever soared. By this morning his vital signs began to deteriorate and eventually they took him into ICU.They put a tube down into his stomach and began pumping out the poisonous, infected bile found there. They put him on a cooling blanket to try to lower the temp and are throwing everything they can at this. They are watching him very, very closely - and doing everything they can to support his organs and kill the infections.
Meanwhile they are trying to make him as comfortable as they can. He's dozing in and out a little confused. To be expected with the level of fever he's dealing with, of course.
It's all still kind of touch and go at the moment. If they can get the fever to drop and his heart rate to lower and his respiration to settle down they feel positive he'll pull through.
We'll all know more in the morning.
Please keep thinking good thoughts - sending good vibes - and picturing him in his boat catching that big one a few weeks from now, when we all look back at this and smile.
